Mabel Hickman was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was baptized in 1921 by Harold B. Lee. She lived in Palo Alto, California, for several years and served as part-time missionary in California Mission. In 1947 she began employment with Church Building Department in Salt Lake City, Utah, and served briefly as secretary for LeGrand Richards.
